Iced coffee, has become a substitute for carbonated drinks and has gained popularity over the last couple of years due to people’s fast and busy lifestyles.
Nestle’s calorie-conscious Skinny Cow brand, best known for their ice cream, is the newest company to expand into the ready to drink (RTD) coffee beverage aisle with the launch of a new line of Skinny Cow® Creamy Iced Coffee Drinks.
The company has launched three delicious flavors — Mocha Latte, Vanilla Latte flavors and Creamy Cappuccino.
Rich roasted coffee is folded into creamy, velvety low-fat skim milk and whipped to deliver a uniquely thick and smooth coffee beverage.
Each indulgent flavor has a sensible calorie count of 120 calories per bottle, 2.5 grams of fat and 18 grams of sugar. The latter is achieved through the use of a blend of sugar with monk fruit extract. If you are watching your sugar intake, these wouldn’t be a good option for you. Hopefully Skinny Cow will come out with sugar free option in an iced coffee or one with less grams of sugar.
Surprisingly, none of the flavors left behind that chalky aftertaste you sometimes get from similar brands of coffee-flavored drinks. I’m normally a chocolate lover, but I must admit that I preferred the Creamy Cappuccino flavor over the Mocha Latte, and Vanilla Latte flavor. However, neither of those flavors disappointed my taste buds any. My husband favored the Vanilla Latte flavor out of the three flavors. Like most brands of bottled iced coffee, the 3 flavors had a bit of coffee flavor, with a sweet milky flavor dominating.
Skinny Cow® Creamy Iced Coffee Drinks are available in 8 oz. bottles at a suggested retail price of $1.99 per individual bottle and $5.99 per four-pack.
Next time you are in for a cool coffee treat, skip the line up at your local Tim Hortons and treat yourself to a mocha latte, vanilla latte flavor or creamy cappuccino from Skinny Cow.
Additionally, Skinny Cow is also introducing two new Blissful Truffle Candy Bars, three new Chocolate Dipped Ice Cream Bars, and one new Ice Cream Candy Bar flavor.
New Skinny Cow Blissful Truffle Candy Bars come in two flavors: Milk Chocolate and Dark Chocolate. Each bar has only 130 calories and satisfies the chocolate snack craving, though I must admit that they are so good that it is difficult to not to want to open the next bar.
While the milk chocolate truffle definitely has my vote between the two, I wouldn’t turn down the dark chocolate if offered. I am normally not a fan or dark chocolate, as it tends to be overly bitter, but the dark chocolate Skinny Cow Blissful Truffle Candy Bar agreed with my taste buds. They’re available in packs of six with a suggested price between $3.99 and $4.99.
