Gingerbread Popcorn

Just when you thought gingerbread was only for cookies comes Gingerbread Popcorn. It is a sweet twist on the classic Caramel popcorn. Upon sample of the first kernel, I noticed the great classic popcorn crunch. The Gingerbread spices were not quite there. I expected to taste more ginger. Instead, my pallet went directly to the taste of caramel with subtle notes of ginger and a sweet, yet salty sugary taste. My husband and daughter loved it, and I was drawn to my next flavor.

Peanut butter and Jelly Popcorn

Peanut butter and jelly with popcorn? What a fabulous combination. My taste buds went directly to the sweet tastes of jam and the luxurious taste of peanut butter. The coating is incredibly delicious! It did taste like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Impressive Emily.

Peanut butter chocolate caramel has all the chocolate peanut butter goodness that the peanut butter and jelly flavor had minus the jam.

Lemon meringue caramel popcorn

Lemon meringue caramel is a sinfully good combo that is sure to capture your craving for a tangy/sweet craving. My husband said it was a nice change from the normal that he was not expecting. My 8-year-old daughter said it melts in your mouth. My taste buds were delighted with a burst of fresh lemon as soon as I put a Kernel in my mouth. It gives your palate a tropical flavor, that is truly magical. It’s a nice refreshing flavor, and unique in the most lip-smacking way.

Double Coated Caramel Popcorn

You may be unwilling to share the double-coated caramel. It has a nice creamy flavor and is melt in your mouth delicious. The taste itself just bursts in your mouth and keeps your hand digging in the bag for more.

Salted Chocolate Popcorn

Salted Chocolate Popcorn: I decided to share a bag of my popcorn from Comeback Snacks with my friends John and Barb though I am unsure if John shared. This is what John had to say about salted chocolate caramel popcorn.

I found the salted chocolate caramel to be delicious. Its taste and consistency had a very strong sponge toffee favor. It wasn’t what I expected, it took three tastes. Then it had me. Like the proverbial perch, I was hooked. I meant to take a beautiful photo of the product in a candy dish alas just like my favorite game fish I ate it all hook line and sinker.

All seven flavors are perfectly popped. There are no hard kernels left over to break your teeth on. Comeback Snacks is delicious and let me tell you that it is not a good thing when you’re trying to eat a healthy diet.

Formally named Cons & Kernels Comeback Snacks was started by Emily O’Brien. In Emily’s case, the prison was where she turned from a seeds hard shell to a kernel that forcefully expanded to Comeback Snacks. A month and a half into her sentence, Emily began to notice that many of the women at Grand Valley liked making their kettle corn as a snack. She also noticed that they put interesting and unique combinations of spices, some Emily had never heard of. The light-bulb went off: why was there such a limited selection of healthy and natural flavors of popcorn out there? It was from there she decided that she wanted to start a new healthy fresh popcorn business and when established would give people second chances by hiring former inmates who had difficulty finding employment.
