In today’s busy world of hectic work, school, and after school recreational activities, it is understandable that not all children receive all the essential vitamins and minerals their bodies need. In addition, if you have a child that is a picky eater they are most likely not getting all the vitamins they require either. For some children, getting them to try new foods can be like pulling teeth.

Vitamin supplements can vary largely from brand to brand, so finding the right vitamin can sometimes be difficult. Before venturing out to choose a brand of vitamin supplements for my daughter and recommending them on my blog I did my homework.

As parents we often believe what we hear without ever questioning what mass marketing and media has to say about a product. Treehouse gummy vitamins for kidsI was shocked to learn that a vitamin I grew up taking when I was a child and that my children also took as children contain a shocking list of chemicals.

Regardless of my recommendation here, you should always consult with your Dr or pediatrician to find what vitamin is right for your child.

A recent addition to Webber Naturals vitamin line is the Treehouse Multivitamin with Minerals. This new line of vitamin supplements is definitely more pleasant-tasting to children than the chewable vitamins that we were use to growing up.

Plus, parents will be pleased to know that Treehouse gummy vitamins for kids is not loaded with genetically-modified organisms (GMOs), aspartame, aluminum, petroleum-derived artificial colors, that some of the other top selling multivitamins for children are loaded with.

Kids age 3 and up will love Treehouse Multivitamin Gummies, because they come in shapes of popular Treehouse TV characters with Max and Ruby, which will help convince your child to take them.

Each Treehouse Multivitamin with Minerals Gummy is a delicious natural fruit-flavoured supplement with a full spectrum of vitamins and minerals needed for healthy teeth, bones, skin, nerves, and the brain, and for metabolism and immunity. Made especially for kids, Treehouse gummies are naturally sweetened with evaporated cane juice and organic tapioca syrup.

Treehouse Multivitamin Gummies are also dairy-free, gluten-free and nut-free. They contain Vitamins A, C, and D, along with Vitamin B12, B6 and E and the minerals calcium, Iodine, Magnesium and Zinc.

My daughter likes them because of the taste and fun character shapes. As her mom, I like them because they give me a bit of peace of mind.

Calcium and Vitamin D

Two nutrients in particular, calcium and vitamin D, are needed for strong bones and teeth. Vitamin D plays a part in the Treehouse gummy vitamins for kidsbone-building process by helping the body to absorb calcium. A Health Canada report, published in 2012, found that nearly one-quarter of kids ages four to eight had inadequate intakes of calcium.

If your child is not getting enough Vitamin D, it could affect their ability to build and maintain strong bones and teeth. These days, most milk is “fortified” with added vitamin D, but sadly many children aren’t drinking enough milk to get the recommended daily amount needed. Other common foods rich in vitamin D include most milk products and other fortified foods, such as some breakfast cereals, orange juice, and yogurt. Other foods that have it include fattier fish, such as salmon and light tuna.

Health Canada recommends a daily dietary allowance of 600 mg IU for children ages 1-18.

How much calcium to get: Children should get this much per day, according to Health Canada.

Ages 1-3: 700 mg
Ages 4-8: 1000 mg
Ages 9-18: 1,300 milligrams

It is important for kids who don’t get enough foods in their diet enriched with calcium and vitamin D to take a supplement like Treehouse Vitamin D3 Gummies, which contains 400 IU of vitamin D.

Shaped like the adored Franklin character and packed with delicious natural orange, grape, and cherry fruit flavours, Treehouse Vitamin D3 Gummies are naturally sweetened with evaporated cane juice and organic tapioca syrup.

Alternative ADHD Treatment- Omega 3 Supplement for ChildrenTreehouse gummy vitamins for kids

Many doctors recommend an omega 3 supplement for kids with Attention Deficit Disorder, and ADHD. A growing number of studies show that omega-3s improve mental focus in people with ADD/ADHD. Evidence from clinical trials has also indicated that omega-3 fatty acid supplements may be effective for conditions such as anxiety, depression, and learning and behavioral difficulties.

An omega 3 supplement for children is a particularly good idea if your children don’t like fish or if your child is not receiving enough omega 3 in their diet. Treehouse Omega-3 Gummies with EPA and DHA contain 90 mg of fish oil and 22.5 mg of fatty acid in each gummy.

Other Treehouse products include: VitaminC gummy vitamins, Tooth-Friendly Chewable Vitamin C, Chewable Multi Vitamin with Minerals, Liquid Omega 3, Liquid Vitamin D3, Probiotic Powder and Chewable Vitamin D3.

The only thing I dislike about Treehouse Gummy vitamins is that they tend to get stuck together and can be hard to remove from the bottle.

Treehouse gummy vitamins for kids

Treehouse Gummies should be treated as medication, so follow the dosage listed on the label, keep the jar tightly capped in an area away from your children, and make sure your kids know that vitamins are NOT candy. Also make sure your kids brush their teeth after taking Treehouse Gummies.

As noted before, please consult your child’s doctor before you buy children’s vitamins.

Take a peek at the Treehouse website to learn more about each of the products. They have a handy store locator to show you where you can buy them in your area.

We don’t and we should be taking multivitamins. We all had a mean nasty cold this summer and it really put a damper on our holiday. I will be thinking a lot more about taking vitamins for our whole family.
