Out of Print Clothing

Out of print clothingOut of Print is a brand that celebrates the world’s most beloved stories through fashion. Founded by Todd Lawton and Jeffrey LeBlanc, this clothing line allows readers to proudly display classic cover art from iconic books like The Great Gatsby, Mockingbird, and Pride and Prejudice. They also offer a selection of timeless children’s titles such as Maurice Sendak’s Where the Wild Things Are, Charlotte’s Web, and the all-time favorite of my youngest daughter, Curious George.

Out of Print works closely with artists, authors, and publishers to obtain licenses for the content featured in their collection. Each shirt is specially treated to have a soft and worn feel, reminiscent of a well-read book.

Since its establishment in 2010, Out of Print has expanded its range of literary merchandise, including tote bags, iPhone cases, socks, and even baby onesies. One of their most popular lines at the moment is the Library Stamp Collection, which features shirts designed to resemble old-fashioned library checkout cards.

In addition to spreading the joy of reading through their merchandise, Out of Print recognizes that many parts of the world lack access to books. They are actively working to change this by partnering with Books for Africa. For every product sold, Out of Print donates a book to a community in need. To date, they have already donated over 1 million books.

As a book lover myself, I find that “Out of Print” perfectly caters to my son’s interests. Jake, a fourth-year university student majoring in ancient religion and English, values a good story. He currently owns four shirts from this company and is eagerly awaiting his fifth. Last summer, he purchased a “Where the Wild Things Are” sweatshirt, which he proudly models in his Instagram photo.

Now, he has his sights set on adding “The Little Prince” sweatshirt to his collection. This choice is influenced by his possession of a first edition copy of Antoine de Saint-Exupery’s timeless masterpiece, “The Little Prince.” With its immense popularity and annual sales of over a million copies, this book holds a special place in the hearts of readers worldwide.
