After spending four days exploring Montréal with my daughter, we were happy to have a comfortable and welcoming hotel to return to each evening. Finding the right place to stay was important to us. We wanted somewhere modern, convenient, quiet, and close to the sights we hoped to experience without having to spend our entire trip travelling between attractions. Tru by Hilton Montreal Centre-Ville turned out to be a great fit for our Montréal getaway. This modern, pet-friendly hotel is located at 815 Boulevard de Maisonneuve Est in downtown Montréal, just steps from the Berri-UQAM metro station. Its central location makes it easy for travellers to explore the city, whether by walking, metro, or Lyft.
We chose this hotel because it was a newer property and the reviews were positive. Travelling with my daughter, I was looking for a place where we could feel comfortable after busy days of sightseeing. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by the friendly staff, and that welcoming service continued throughout our entire four-night stay.
One of the things that stood out most during our visit was how easy it was to enjoy Montréal from this location. We were close to restaurants, shopping, attractions, and public transportation, making it simple to plan our days and return to the hotel when we needed a break.
Location and Parking
The location was one of the highlights of our stay. Being downtown meant we were close to restaurants, shopping, attractions, and public transportation. If you are planning a visit, be sure to check out my guide to Things to Do in Montréal for ideas to help plan your itinerary.
The hotel is within walking distance of several popular Montréal attractions:
- Underground City: approximately an 11-minute walk (1 km)
- Place des Arts: approximately a 13-minute walk
- Old Port of Montréal and Old Montréal: approximately a 15-minute walk
The hotel is also located near Berri-UQAM station, which provides easy access to multiple metro lines. This was especially convenient for reaching attractions without needing to walk long distances. For travellers looking to save money on taxis or rideshares, the location is a definite advantage.
There is no on-site parking available at the hotel, but there are three independent underground parking garages nearby, including options such as Îlot Voyageur. Parking rates generally range from approximately $16 to $25 CAD per day.
Although the hotel is located in the heart of downtown, we found it to be quiet and peaceful at night. It was a comfortable place to return to after busy days exploring Montréal.
Check-in begins at 3:00 PM and check-out is at 11:00 AM.
First Impressions and Lobby Area

Check-in was quick and friendly. The staff were welcoming and made us feel comfortable right away.
The lobby is one of the standout features of Tru by Hilton Montréal Centre-Ville. It is a large, open-concept space designed around the brand’s “Eat. Work. Play. Lounge.” concept. The area includes a central reception desk, colourful seating areas, workspaces, a games zone, and the daily complimentary breakfast area.
There was lots of comfortable seating, making the lobby a great place to relax, enjoy a drink, work, or take a break after sightseeing. During our stay, there was almost always someone using the lobby, whether guests were enjoying a coffee, relaxing after exploring the city, meeting with others, or working on their laptops. It created a welcoming and lively atmosphere without feeling crowded.
Complimentary coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and flavoured water were available in the lobby throughout the day, which was a thoughtful touch. It was nice to be able to grab a drink when returning to the hotel or while relaxing in the seating area.
The flexible seating areas include power outlets and fast, free Wi-Fi, which is helpful for both business travellers and guests wanting to stay connected.
A 24/7 snack and drink minimarket is located near the front desk for convenient grab-and-go items.
The elevators were easy to access from the lobby, which was convenient when arriving with luggage or after a long day exploring the city.
Our Room Experience

We stayed here for four nights and really enjoyed our stay. Our room was just the right size for two people and provided everything we needed for a comfortable visit.
The room included a refrigerator, which came in handy during our stay. There was no coffee maker in the room, but this was not a problem since complimentary coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and water were available in the lobby.
The room had a walk-in shower, which was convenient and easy to use. Complimentary shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were provided in the shower, which was a nice touch.
The room smelled clean when we arrived, and housekeeping did an excellent job throughout our stay. Anytime we needed fresh towels or had a request, the staff were quick to help with a smile.
The air conditioning was easy to control, allowing us to keep the room comfortable. The beds were comfortable, although I personally found the pillows a little too soft for my liking.

Things to Know Before Booking
Tru by Hilton Montréal Centre-Ville is a great choice for couples, solo travellers, families, and business travellers looking for a modern downtown hotel.
A few things to keep in mind before booking:
- There is no coffee maker in the room
- Rooms include a refrigerator
- Storage space is limited, with a hanging bar instead of a traditional closet and dresser
- There is no on-site parking
- The hotel offers a walk-in shower
- Complimentary breakfast is included
- The location makes it easy to explore Montréal by foot, metro, or rideshare
We travelled with my daughter and appreciated having a comfortable, quiet place to return to after full days exploring Montréal. After busy days discovering the city, it was nice to come back to a clean and welcoming hotel where we could relax and recharge.
Complimentary Breakfast

Breakfast is included daily from 6:30 AM to 9:30 AM. The breakfast area is spacious and part of the open lobby design. There was a decent variety of breakfast options available, but this was the one area where I felt the hotel could improve. In my opinion, the pancakes were soggy and the scrambled eggs were watery. While there were other breakfast items available, I think the quality of the hot breakfast options could definitely be improved.
Final Thoughts
Overall, our stay at Tru by Hilton Montréal Centre-Ville was very enjoyable. The outstanding customer service, clean accommodations, comfortable lobby area, walk-in shower, and convenient downtown location made this a great place to stay.
The staff truly made a difference during our visit. Everyone we encountered was friendly, helpful, and welcoming.
For travellers looking for a modern, well-located hotel in downtown Montréal with easy access to attractions and public transportation, Tru by Hilton Montréal Centre-Ville is worth considering.
I would happily book this hotel again.
