S’mores are one of my favorite treats when camping. But what if you are not camping? You can make s’mores over a fire pit in your own backyard. I often enjoy s’mores with my neighbors in their backyard by the fire pit. Making s’mores at home is really easy, so easy that even a little kid can make them with a bit of help from mom or dad. Did you know that you can also make s’mores in the microwave? This is how I prepare homemade s’mores using the microwave.

Gathering Your Easy Ingredients

To make these s’mores, you just need two ingredients.

Celebration Milk Chocolate Top Butter Cookies: Celebration cookies are some of my favorite cookies. The milk topper cookies come with milk chocolate already on them. This makes it easier because you don’t have to break a chocolate bar. This saves time and makes sure you have the right amount of chocolate on each cookie.

Large Marshmallows: Regular large marshmallows are the best choice because they melt and spread nicely. You just have to cut them in half.

A Microwave-Safe Plate or Dish: Pick a plate that is big enough to hold your smore’s without them touching each other.

Making s’mores in the microwave is really fast. Keep an eye on them because marshmallows can melt super quickly.

Instructions

Put one Celebration Milk Chocolate Top Butter Cookie, chocolate side up, on a plate that can go in the microwave.

Add the Marshmallow: Place a big marshmallow cut in half right on top of the chocolate part of the cookie. Make sure it’s in the middle so it melts evenly.

Microwave: Put the plate in the microwave. Heat it on high for about 5-7 seconds. This is very important: Your microwave might be different than ours, so start with a shorter time.

Complete the Sandwich: As soon as the marshmallow is just right, take the plate out of the microwave right away. Quickly put another Celebration Milk Chocolate Top Butter Cookie on top of the melted marshmallow, chocolate side down, and press gently to make a s’mores sandwich.

Let them cool because they will be hot when they come out of the microwave. Eat like a sandwich. Make sure to have plenty of napkins ready since they can get really messy.
