  1. Thank you! I want to add one more thing for this season: go around the house and seal any little gaps or cracks. Heat loss is one issue, but the other is pests heading inside when the temperature drops. They don’t need much space at all. I like using silicone caulk for narrow cracks since it handles temperature changes really well, and for gaps around door frames or sills, adhesive weatherstripping works great. Sealing those spots makes the house feel warmer and keeps bugs and rodents from trying to ‘move in’ for winter.
