Right? Nothing says delicious like overpriced eggs that taste exactly like the included ones! Imagine complaining about hotel included breakfast. Some people just can't appreciate the little things in life!

Ruth, That's a fair point! "Included breakfast" is probably a more accurate term than "free breakfast." I agree that the quality can vary quite a bit from one hotel to another, even within the same chain. I've had some Holiday Inn Express breakfasts that were surprisingly good and others that were pretty basic. I have also paid extra for breakfast at hotels before and found the food to be greasy and not much better than what was offered at hotels with breakfast included. For me, having breakfast included is more about convenience and value, especially when traveling with family. Many hotels also offer healthier options such as fresh fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, and whole-grain items, although the selection varies by property. Bringing healthy snacks is a great idea. It definitely helps when hotel breakfast options don't match everyone's tastes or dietary preferences. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Thank you, but bear in mind the breakfast is not “free”; it’s included in the price.
I’m surprised you liked the Holiday Inn Express - I just stayed in one, and breakfast was awful! Cheap carbs, yukky eggs - that was about it. I find that if you pay extra for breakfast, rather than paying because it’s included in the nightly price (whether you want it or not); it’s better.
We travel with healthy snacks, so the kids always have something to eat.
