We got a little Toy Australian Shepherd, he will only reach about 20 to 25 pounds and is as cute as a button but we’re having a heck of a time training him.

I love small dogs and had a Poodle for years which used a litter box and it was so easy!

My parents had Yorkies for a while. Great dogs for seniors. Now they have a Shitzu and the most well-behaved black lab you ever saw. The dogs keep them active. It gives them a reason to get out from in front of the TV and go outside.

What do you think about miniature poodles? My nan has had one for about 6 months now and it’s the most adorable lap dog. It’s either on her lap or by her side, she’s still able to walk it daily, although she was told they really don’t need much exercise.
It seems low maintenance and ticks the boxes for being affectionate, loyal, and easy to look after so far.
