Why can't I submit my own quotes?
Todays-Woman quote section is strictly for famous quotes only. If you wish to share your quotes post them in the community forum. This section is devoted to quotes from famous authors or celebrities.

I submitted a quote but don't see it listed anywhere?
If you submitted a quote, be patient - all quote submissions are manually reviewed by the Todays-Woman staff, all quote submissions can take up to 2 to 3 days before approval.

Why was my quote rejected?
Don't take it personal if your quote was rejected. Some of the following reasons why your quote may have been rejected are listed below.
We already have the quote in our data base.You've quoted yourself.The quote in question may violate copyright.Song lyrics are copyrighted and are not permitted.

Why do I have to register to submit a quote?
Todays-Woman requires users to register to ensure quality and to prevent spam. Each registered user that submits a quote is commended for their contribution and is given full credit for doing so. With each quote submission, your username will appear along side of the quotation.
Also being a registered member of Todays-Woman, you will be able to enjoy other features and services that we have to offer.

Can I use Todays-Woman quotes on my web-page, newsletter, etc.?
Yes you can as long as you provide an active link back to the resource on your site. Our link must accompany the quote that you plan to use on your website and it must be visible to all visitors.

Am I allowed to use these quotes in publications?
Many quotes are free to use as they follow under public domain also known as "fair use", under copyright law.
We strongly suggest that you make all attempts to contact the original author or, check with the US copyright office to insure there is no 3rd party with world wide royalty licenses or claims on a specific quote you may wish to use. Another source of information is to consult with copyright lawyer before any commercial use involving any quotes are used.

How do I search for a famous quote?
The search feature is usually quiet accurate, but to narrow down your search to a specific category or search phrase try the following:
Use the * symbol as a wild card to search for any variation of your search term for example, Dickinson *, would pull up anything related to "Dickinson", or use the + sign to narrow your search results down to a specific search, for example Emiley+Dickinson.

How are quotes selected to be top rated or popular?
At Todays-Woman we rely on you the individual to rate or comment on your favorite quotes. Our system then tallies up all users input and ratings and calculates which of the quotes are more popular or best rated.

How do I find the new quotes just added?
At the top of the "Quotes" page you will see the navigational links, simply click the "New Quotes". From this section you will be able to select or narrow down you results by selecting any of the following.
Quotes added last week, 2 weeks ago, 1 month ago or select to find a new quote from the calendar menu-- which displays how many added on any specific day.

Were does Todays-Woman get their quotes from?
Many of the quotes in our data base are collected from various sources across the internet. Some are submitted by registered members or submitted by Todays-Woman staff.

I see quotes that say "author unknown", then who is the author?
Members sometimes submit their favorite quote that they found somewhere on the internet and don't know the author as it wasn't present or the web owner neglected to add it.
If you happen to find a quote on Todays-Woman, and you know the original author contact us so we may give credit were credit is due.
Send us the url on Todays-Woman where the author is not mentioned, and be sure to include the authors full name, a url to were we can view the original authors quote and we will be sure to make any or all alterations.
