Dear Today's Woman Writing Community
Member, I hope all is well with you and you've been enjoying this weather
that we are having. I do hope you've been busy writing too and will share your
successes with us.
Don't forget about our contest
The theme of the challenge is spring. The
poetry contest is open to all active Today's Woman members. Today's Woman's
moderators are not eligible. Submissions may be published or unpublished, but
must be written on the topic of Spring. First price winner will receive a copy
of Writer's Market 2006. 2nd place winner will receive a two month upgrade to
premium membership. Please submit your poem through regular submission to the
category contest with
“Spring Contest” in the title line along with the title of your poem. Contest
will close April 30th. Winner will be announced May 6th. Have fun and the best
of luck. Please note that you must live in Canada or the US for free shipping of
the book. If you live out side of Canada and the US and would like to still
participate, you will be required to pay for shipping should you receive the
book.
Upcoming Contest
We will soon be launching our mother's
day writing contest and we are looking for members who would be willing to
sponsor the contest by donating a price. This is a great way to support
your writing community. Please contact me if you are interested in sponsoring.
Upcoming Interview
Be sure to check out Todays-Woman.net
next week for our exclusive interview with cartoon illustrator Chad Baldwin.
New Contest -- Win Cash!
We're happy to announce a new contest where you can win money. There is a pot of
gold at the end of this rainbow and you could win it! That's right, you could
win money and keep Today's Woman Writing Community running at the same time. We
are holding a pot of gold raffle. Here is how it will work. Make a donation to
todays-woman.net and you will receive one raffle number with each $5.00
donation. A dollar from each $5.00 donated is entered into the pot. The more you
donate, the better your chance of winning the pot. Raffle numbers will be sent
to you via email, so please include your Today's Woman member's name when
donating. The raffle drawing will take place on April 30th and winner will be
announced. To sweeten the pot, we're going to give our winner three months free
premium membership. So in addition to winning money, you will win a free
upgrade. Winning money will be sent via Paypal or international money order. The
pot is currently at $8.00. The more donations received, the more money you could
win. To enter all you need to do is click on the enter to win button and send us
a donation. Good luck! Thank you to all those who have already entered. The pot
is now at $16.00

We hope you enjoy this week's issue of Today's Woman Writing
Community News. If you have any announcements, please email them to us and we
may just include them in our next newsletter.

4 - American Life in Poetry: Column 105
Ted Kooser, U.S. Poet Laureate 2004-2006
I've talked often in this column about how poetry can hold a mirror up to life, and I'm especially fond of poems that hold those mirrors up to our most ordinary activities, showing them at their best and brightest. Here Ruth Moose hangs out some laundry and, in an instant, an everyday chore that might have seemed to us to be quite plain is fresh and lovely.

Stepping out of the Dark-Julia L. Nielsen
This talented author has an eye, or should I say mind, for knowing what reality books offer the public. Mental disorders now but all rule many of our lives. Magazine welcome both new and veteran writers (men and women
alike). We're really interested in originals and reprints that
have not been blasted all over the Internet. And unlike many
websites that have gone to non-paying status, we're a paying
