These small images are called Avatars. They are displayed below your
username on all posts that you make in the forums. There are two kinds of
avatars.
1. Those provided by the Administrator.
2. Those that you upload yourself.
If the Administrator has provided a set of avatars and avatars
are enabled, you may select an avatar that best describes your personality.
The Administrator may also have enabled custom avatars, which
allows you to upload an avatar image from your computer.
I have an avatar I want to use, but it wouldn't upload?
Simply e-mail it to admin@todays-woman.net
and we will resize it for you and then email it back, so that you may use it in
your forum posts.
We also have a section in our photo gallery, with avatars that you are free
to use.
add a Avatar or Small Picture to your Profile follow these steps
Click here to go to the Forums and then select
the Profile Link at the top of the Page to access your Profile
Settings.
Once in your Profile you can change your time
zone, your e-mail address, how you wish to be notified plus a
few other handy settings. But to change most of these settings it requires you
to confirm your password to save the changes.
Scroll down to the bottom of your Profile
Page you should see a button that says Show Gallery, click on this
to view the Avatars that are already available.
Once you have found the one you wish to use click on the radio button underneath the Avatar of your choice, and scroll down
the gallery page until you see the button Select Avatar or Cancel Avatar.
Click on Select Avatar now you should be re-directed
back to your profile page. Now to Save your selected avatar
scroll down to the bottom of your Profile Page and click Submit!
That's it you should now see the Avatar you
Selected from the Gallery in your Profile.
To Upload your Own Avatar
Follow these Steps
Click here to go to the Forums and then select
the Profile Link at the top of the Page to access your Profile
Settings.
Scroll down to the bottom of your Profile
Page you should see a Section that says Upload Avatar
from your machine. So now click on Browse, and select any
image from your computer but remember that the image size cant be any larger
then 80 Height x 80 Width
All images uploaded must be
found to be appropriate or it may be deleted and you may receive your first
warning.
After you have selected the
image from your computer click on Submit to start the upload process.
You should then see this message " Your profile
has been updated Click Here to return to the Index" Now your done.
Your avatar should be displaying.
If you had an error after
attempting upload, it would be at the top of the forum Profile Page displaying
what ever error message that may have occurred for your situation. Simply
correct what it tells you and you will have success uploading you own personal
avatar.
