hey all. I was wondering if someone could give me some ideas on how to turn wicked nightmares (only Steven King should have these kind) into rivoting short stories. I can't say what they are about or it would give it away. But how to turn what I saw for weeks in my mind to something on paper? And also to do it without bringing the nightmares back. Thanks for your advice in advance.
Sincerely,

You could write the nightmares with as much detail as you can recall. There are many dream sites that can help you with the meanings of the elements (if you want to know).
IDK how to keep them from coming back. Maybe an understanding of why/what you are dreaming would help. |

As RibZ suggested, I would write as many details as you can.
Then when you do this, see if you can recall any reactions to the events you see in your nightmares.
Once you have all of that down, that is when I would suggest writing a bare skeleton outline or set of questions to answer for the story, or both. You do not want to write every single detail of the story - since that might make it harder to be creative if you are the type who gets fixated on an order or pattern - but it does not hurt to organize your thoughts just a -little-.
