When I was in public school I wanted to be a nurse or hair dresser. By the time I hit high school I wanted to be a print journalist. I'm not quite doing the career I wanted, but I am writing. What did you want to be when you grew up?

From the time I was a little kid right up until I took the entrance exam at the age of 18 I wanted to be a police officer. I passed the required strength test ant written test but failed with the eye exam. I settled for getting married and joining the Army. Sometimes we can't get what we hope for even if we do everything to follow through. I'm note disatisfied how life turned out though. If one puts enough effort into it life has a way of making up for our failures. Smile

When I was a kid I wanted to be a store owner. Then when I was a teen, a poet, published author, and a songwriter. Then when I learned to dance, I also wanted to be a dancer. Now as I am alot older, I didn't want to become a store owner. Now my dream as a published author and a poet has become a reality.

As a kid in elementary school, I always wanted to be a singer. Still do when I grow up. Laughing

I wanted to be a journalist too but when I grew up I realised it wasn't for me. I care too much about other people's feelings and I just haven't got thick enough skin.

My father was a heavy drinker and smoker and he died when I was in grade school. I wanted to be there for my kids, so I don't drink or smoke and I now have two grandkids and my youngest just graduated from High school. So far so good.

I wanted to be a singer, music teacher and a mother. The mother was what won out in the end. Now I am suffering from empty nest syndrome and not quite sure what to do in life.

I was a foster mother for many years and a teacher's aide for special need children. I have done a lot of singing for nursing homes and I used to be a nurses aide, until a back injury ended that career.

Most of those I grew up with wanted me to be different than the sweet little kid I was
So I grew up wanting the freedom to be . . . Me.
I left home at 16 (without looking back) and made that dream come true!

I wanted to play in the stock market, and close down big business, I settled for owning hotels, and car dealerships.

I wanted to be president of the USA….and realized my IQ was too high for the Job. So I settled for voter.

I have sold my hotel and dealership interests, now I am buying houses and fixing them, and turning around and selling them for profit... Until I need to do something bigger…perhaps I will open a string of bars…..who knows finish writing a novel, write the greatest novel ever written….if not….then I will simply bask in the success I have had and watch my children take the helm…

When I grew up I wanted to be a mother and a wife.
Get this, my brother wanted to be a bachelor.
We have each other's dreams.
