Hello all,
I was thinking, after having a discussion with a friend of mine on the writing process, that it might benefit both writers and readers here if we had a section for Writing Projects.
Basically, the Writing Projects section I am thinking of would be a forum section where writers could post their proses that are going through serious revisions, and then inform the community when they have made revisions. Through this, people can be informed when revisions are made on a project (such as a novel, what I am trying tediously to work on at the moment while upholding my duties at the Crisis Center and the university), so they can check and if they want, critique more or state if they think improvement has been made.
While I really enjoy the ability to give feedback and to see it being given on my work, I do not have the luxury of knowing when a prose has gone through revision; I try to take the time to read two or even more proses whenever I have the time to visit and I probably cannot list everything I have written by title. With many talented writers here, writings can get lost as new writings are being posted, which means more browsing and searching for the average community member. There have been a several times when I suggested some critiques, and I may not always know when someone considered making critiques; if I knew, I could give more critiques or even post to encourage the writer to keep going. People could easily tell those who have commented when they have made revisions by private messages, but I think this would also help keep the PM section more clean and tidy too, for those who practice this form of writer-reader communication. :-)
I think this section could also help in giving people an idea/suggestion forum, for writers who are open to having some new ideas, or revisions (or simply more explanation) of current ideas on their project.
This could also be a section where people can throw out ideas for new writing projects, and see if a writer with enough time on their hands can work on it.
What does everyone think?
Sincerely,

awesome idea. i like it. At least would help those who think they have forgotten to write or who have lots of free time, as you quoted!
there should be a poll for it! _________________ "The key to realizing a dream is to focus not on success but significance - and then even the small steps and little victories along your path will take on greater meaning" |
