It has recently been brought to our attention that one of our fellow members Kristy Miller aka millerk had submitted a plagiarized poem. Upon review of her account and a few Google searches, she plagiarized every poem that she ever submitted to this website. This comes as a great shock to us. Many of you I know considered her a friend. It is effective immediately that Kristy Miller aka millerk account has been suspended until further investigation and her access to this site has been banned. We take plagiarism very seriously here. All poetry must be 100% your own words and not cut and pasted from other poetry website, or rewritten from existing poems by other people. Any member found doing so it automatically banned. To the poets that she plagiarized I can only say that I'm sorry this was done to them and wish it could have been caught sooner.

WOWZERS! ! ! I AM TOTALLY SHOCKED!
Oh well, I guess we'll just have to go with the flow. I did wonder how she could go through so much and remain sane.

Thanks Rose. It's not your fault. We're still behind Today's Woman forums.

hi rose
it is really a bad thing to be done .

yet we should give her the chance to defend herself

and as we are assured she is guilty .
i think she owe us at least an apology.

hope not to be repeated again thruogh our website.

There is nothing to defend. She is guilty. We are not talking one poem. We are talking all poems and she plagiarized them from various poets.

I am saddened and extremely shocked to hear this, as I did consider her a friend and a good poet. I would like her to be given the chance to post an apology to us all through the forum if at all possible, I think she owes us that.

She has not even replied to her removal and do any of us really know that she is who she said she was. I mean every poem that she submitted was plagiarized, not to mention she joined under two accounts. Rachel was her too.

Rose,
I admire your strengths. Here you are mother hen, so to speak, as well as traffic cop too.
And I appreciate the way you can be both of these without compromising who you are.

She was wrong and in reality, I doubt she is sorry, except perhaps for being caught.
We can always hope that she is and that she will be able to stop her thieving ways, for her own sake.

I wonder if she'll ever really internalize just how much disappointment and shock she has caused. Again, we can only hope that some day a moment of personal epiphany will open her eyes and then she can begin anew.

My internet connection has been down since midnight on sunday, so have just got up to date here, am even more shocked to hear that "Rachael" and Millerk were one and the same. I wrote a poem, Deception, that you may like to read, which says a little about how one persons actions made me feel, will post it now. Thanks to you Rose for dealing with a difficult situation, I get such a lot of pleasure out of this site, that I fail to understand why someone would want to do this.

I think that this is a sad situation.
I cannot help but think "Why"
It is not like she received money
from posting the poems here.
Is there something missing
inside of her that the attention
from TW members replaced?
I am sorry for any bad things
that may have happened to the
real writers of the poems she posted.
Still my heart has compassion for
people stuck in their woundedness.
Just my opinion.

Tamara

If all that I knew about her was true, maybe she was a damaged individual and as you say perhaps looking for something to fill a gap in her life, I hope that she reflects on her actions and realises that this was not the way to go. One thing I learnt from working in a prison, was that everyone does things for a reason, it may not be the right reason and they need a little help, I hope she gets that help if needed.
