Why is it that computors almost hardly ever do what they are supposed to or work like they should?

I swear they are like spoilt children sometimes.... they just go, "No! I'm not working! I won't!!"

and you scream at it, "Why not!?!"

And it replies, "Cos I don't want to :Icon14: "

I swear there is someone hacking into my computor and sabotaging my conversations with my girlfriend on msn. It is only with her that things go wrong. A while back *only with her* the messages we sent to eachother never arrived. sometimes just random things, others huge chunks of conversation.... it would work with other people for me, and for her. Also messages would appear on our conversations that neither of us had sent! And now the webcam and sound doesnt work, and it is only with eachother. and its only with eachother that we want to use it!!

God technology can be a pain in the ass. Anyone else have any run ins with it? Or would like to take a crow bar to every electrical appliance in their house only if they didnt need them all so damn much!

Well I realize that this post is two months old and now you are with your g/f, but you are right the other monkeys set out to sabotage you. That is what you get for not sharing the bananas. Seriously don't you hate when that happens? Smile

I am on a first name basis with people from all over the world including Mary in India and Jack in Thailand. By the way, my husband hid the crow bar from me!! Very Happy

Reformat them. Computers hate to be reformatted. You completely erase their memory and their data base. Or better still, sell it at a garage sale and build or buy a new one.

I empathize with all of you. Computers can be very confusing.

Opposites attract, you know. My husband is a computer programmer/analyst, and I am a techno-peasant. He telecommutes most days from home, and whenever I write, he is sitting across from me at his desk. . . I don't often ask him computer questions, though, because when he explains computer stuff, it is so far over my head that I panic and look at him with my "dear-in-the-headlights" look. . . Poor man.

Its not the computer at fault, its the software!

Fear not,the future is bright.

As artificial intelligence develops further and computers get even more powerful, 'intelligent' software will react to mistakes and seem more human. You will be able to speak to your friendly computer and ask for help and guidance. It might even say a prayer for you! Laughing

LOL!!! I will take that prayer cause I am in need of it right now!!! I was using Outlook Express but when my web mail ( AT&T ) would fill up the messages coming in to Outlook Express were bouncing back because my web mail was full. I would have to go delete everything to recieve in OE again. I decided that was to much hassle and instead of just making AT&T my homepage called them .Not wanting to go into a lot of detail,I had Mary in Thailand then Jack in Sri Lanka and George in some place that isn't even on the globe because his accent was so garbled that it was guess work figuring out what he was saying!! It ended up that I now can't send e-mail from my scanner because a box pops up saying I have to create a profile ,I called AT&T ,they say it's Microsoft's problem and MS says it's AT&T's problem!! I can go to control box then to the mail icon anda mail box appears saying the following profiles are set up on this computer and the little box that holds the info is now blank!! I have no idea what to type in there so I am in a real mess. The worse thing is that I have come to depend on this darn machine for so many things including sending out a monthly newsletter to all the members of an antique car club I belong to!!Talk about FRUSTRATION, it is a word that has to be capitalized!!!

That's what I love about "AOL"e-mail. It is easy to use and virtually trouble free.

I am very sorry to hear of your computor problems... maybe we expect too much from them, or maybe it would just be nice if they did what they were supposed to do!

Thanks!! I did get 100 newsletters written and am in the process of copying them off. It is just the e-mail ( I think!) so I am able to get most things done. The man that works on my computer folded his web service and seems to have flown with the wind and he was so good,I am heart broken that I can't find him. You have a great night and come visit me at
