Why is it that people always talk about the mistakes that people make, never the good things that people do? I would like to think of myself as a caring person. I’ve done a lot of good things for a lot of people, but when you Google my name what you find is blogs and forum posts where individuals have taken revenge against me. They’ve convinced themselves that I deserve this harassing treatment.
They may as well burn me at the stake. They insist that they have just cause to out me as this bad person. Just once I’d like to Google my name and read comments that talk about the good person that I am. I’ve made mistakes. Haven’t we all. We’ve all said things out of anger. Why must I be made to suffer for my past wrongs? Might I also stress that most of these individuals do not even know me and some of the posts are simply made up stories. Yes, it does damn well hurt!!!!

It would be so easy to say, " don't pay attention to them " but I can see your dilemma. I'm sure it hurts. Especially when you did nothing to deserve such treatment. I know this is my favorite site and I think the world of You and Shawn. I wouldn't be here if I didn't. If I see anything derogatory in my surfings please rest assured that I'll defend you. The people that continue to write bad things about you are stupid my friend, they try and belittle you and say mean things to try and make it look like you are a bad person.
But you are the best person I know Rose and they are jealous of your success and your kind and generous heart, you treat everyone with kindness and respect you have always been here for me and helped me a lot.
So I am here for you and I know it hurts and I am so sorry about these people, you are an amazing person Rose and I am here for you always ((HUGS))

I just went to google and put a search on your name and .. man.. can I just go hit these people? I mean really! This one guy was going on and on and on about how this site is all about making money. Right... I mean come on! And one was going on about the spelling errors people make here. Well I for one don't have english as a native language/mother tongue so should I just forget about writing in english all together just to save them from seeing any mistakes I make??!!
I feel for you Rose. I really do. Can I go hit them now? *joke*

yes it is strange Rose, its always the bad things that people talk about. and its always the bad things you cant get out of your head, why isnt it the good things you do that haunt you? thats so annoying...
but back to the point, I know this has been going on for so long now. and i know its easy to say, dont let it effect you, but alot harder in practice when people are so keen to degrade you as people like Jeff are. Just keep telling yourself that it is not the truth, and they wouldnt know it if it hit them in the face. or, even if it did, it wouldnt make a difference now. they are to proud to admit they are wrong after making such a fuss.

Online harassment has become a part of everyday life. The solution is to ignore them, to take away their power. Without their power they are helpless. However, I’ve attempted to ignore them and still they do not let up. If you were all me, you too would feel the need to defend yourself. You would become angry and say things in haste. They know that comments like “I wouldn’t let my children around her or her family” will provoke a response in me, so that is why they say it. James Landrith keeps the comments open on his blog, just to drive traffic to his website. Last month my name was searched 68 times. If you wish to increase traffic to your website, just use my name on your blog or webpage. I’ve reported James offending blog to Google in an attempt to have it removed from Google’s search results, but I doubt they will remove it. Hell they won’t remove scamfradalert who continues to take copywritten content from Invision Graphics and uses my name as a KeyWord to drive traffic to his site.
WritersWeekly has 15 pages about me titled the worst experiencing reading an article. Katie Fairchild & Mid Stutsman, previous members of Today’s Woman have become Crusaders who are attempting to out me as this horrible person.
Mid’s comment was and I quote
“How she dupes these people is of great "wonder" to me!! I'm just waiting for one of them to slip, and finally come under the wrath of the real person they admire so! They won't be waking up to the smell of roses...if ya know what I mean...!!!!!!!!!!”
Despite what Mid may of told some of you old timers of this community, she requested for her account to be removed. She was an editor of this community and during her time of being an editor- she was bad mouthing the community by calling us unprofessional. Mid also gave Jeff Paris my home address, which he posted publicly on his website with an encouragement for people to contact me. He did remove it as it was a criminal offense. He also posted Steve’s info.
Now Katie Fairchild is supposedly writing some book about me and how I’m this cyber stalker.
Jeff Paris, whose wife is a friend of Katie’s, has been harassing Shawn & I for some time. You can read the warnings in our warning section. He purchased two domains - rose-desrochers.com and todays-woman-sucks.net. On those two domains, he had this photo.
Now, you deal with this daily abuse day in and day out. Could you hold it all together? I love this community. I take a great deal of grief for administrating this community. This year, we celebrate 4 years of being online. We have supported it out of own pockets and just last year did we started offering premium service and advertising, before that we replied on donations.
We have come a long way. We have had a lot of accomplishments, like receiving 101 best websites by Writers Digest. We are a family here and we do care about all of you.
When Steve’s Dad died & Becky Mother rook Ill and Debra was diagnosed with Cancer, some members, with Staff came together to send flowers. We support hugs & hope where I’m also a parent penpal.
Members feel comfortable here sharing personal things. This community is home to many of you.
I fight daily not just for me, but all of you. If people wish to read some bull online, then that’s their own damn problem.
We are not going anywhere and neither am I. So they better get use to me and find a healthier hobby than bullying and harassing me online.

Yeah I have seen the hell they have put you through my friend and I am so sorry you are an amazing person and they are just jealous of you.
All those that belittle and try and hurt you are idiots plain and simple, you have helped me tremendously both in my writings here and the help you give me on the site.
To the help and support you have given me when Dad was sick and when he died you were there for me, and you can better believe I'm here for you because you are my family and I love you my friend ((HUGS))
And yeah they best take up a new thing because harassing you isn't going to happen with your friends by your side ((HUGS))

Rose, I can understand your pain and frustration. No matter how hard you try to be good and kind, there is always somebody out to get you or to try and ruin you and your good mood. Rose, I am going to encourage you to not look for the rewards here on earth. Earthly rewards are fleeting and will soon be forgotten. Remember that the good you do will be remembered in the Father's eyes. He keeps perfect records and you will one day be looked after as God takes revenge on those who are/were out to get you. We are here for you.

I googled your name and only came up with a couple of references to TW and some history on a DesRocheres who is probably not even a relative of yours.
Is there a special way of doing this? I googled my name and found several references to my journal sites and a lot about towns named Ava.
At any rate, what is out there on the web is opinion, so it's best to see if for what it really is and shrug it off.

Judge Edward Fadeley retired associate justice of the Oregon Supreme Court states that today’s blogosphere is a veritable Wild West of verbal ambushes and shootouts, with very little fear of legal recourse to keep character assassination, defamation and dirty business tricks in check.
Judge Edward Fadeley claims that many bloggers flout that responsibility and willingly post inaccurate messages that damage others. The Judge believes that some 50 to 60 per cent of blog attacks are now sponsored by business rivals. - Isn’t that the truth.
Many innocent companies are being damaged by individuals out for profit or self-promotion, claims Fadeley. - Again the Judge is correct.
“Even in instances where legitimate organisations have been seriously damaged by bloggers, it’s difficult to counter unfounded attacks or to demand the actual sources, let alone seek the protection of the law.” - The law does not wish to get involved.
Fadeley says, It’s high time to fill the gap in a system that allows defamation in the blogosphere to go unchecked. The harm can be wide-ranging and devastating. Until the law catches up with technology, innocent parties have little or no protection in the volatile world of cyberspace. - Should bloggers get away with doing whatever they want with no fear of punishment? The truly sad part of the blogosphere is that bloggers can post whatever negative attacks or libel drivel they want and then hide behind a document that was intended for far nobler purposes than defending their idiotic childish behavior.

Yessiree! I said it to you before, Rose. Some people live with a Junior high mentality. ready to blame, cut down or damage another person, due to their own short comings. With no regard for someone else's feelings.
What can be done about it in the blog world. I have no clue as of yet. I really haven't thought about it much. But, in the words of a military stratigist, "The best defense is a good offense." keep yourself true in what you say and do. Be constructive not destructive.
The truth will win out. It always does.
