I have been a member of this website for maybe a week or two and I finally came upon this forum. And so, I suppose I am writing this to introduce myself.
My name is Lisa. I am 23 and I live in Central Texas. I am not a native of Texas. I was born in the Philippines and raised in Hawaii. I came here to go to college (haven't got there yet... life's tough) and pursue my dreams. I stumbled upon this website looking for fellow writers and to share some of my poetry. I finally got my first book of poetry published (yay!) and have been trying to get my name out there. Hope this place can help a little.
Anyway, a little about myself. To sum it up, I guess one would say I am an eclectic, eccentric, level-headed (does that make sense?), down to earth gal who plays console video games, enjoys folding laundry, owns too many books (which I've all read), doesn't really like computers (so good with them but they make me soooo mad!); enjoys her rum (quite rarely), a good cigar, floppy stuffed animals (no porcelain dolls for me, ugh), Seinfeld, Home Improvement, Final Fantasy X, Halo 3, laughing, crying (it's necessary for my spiritual growth), long walks in the woods (not beach), jumping up and down to rock'n'roll music, driving to country music, studying to classical music, painting, hockey (Avalanche), the Packers (Favre), sad movies, funny movies, dramatic movies, alien movies, arnie movies and cajun crawfish broils!
Phew! What a.... paper... full? (Not mouth, I guess).
Anyway, if anyone ever wants to chat (through emails, not the phone... I've got a limit on my minutes, duh) let me know... but I'm warning you, I'm probably not one would consider... normal.
Farewell to thee and oh, I like British comedy! |

| So many wise words spill from us when we least expect them too. If only we could sometimes listen to our own council. I find in your written words, meaning, depth and sincerity. I would love to read your published work. From where is it available? Welcome to TW aqnd thanks for sharing your words with us. |

Thank you all for such a warm welcome!
To Lark, I love Monty Python and Father Ted! You?
To Steeveeg, my book can be found at the online store at www.publishamerica.com. Search for "A Poet's Diary" or "Vandever" (my last name).
You live in South Africa right? Were you born there? I've always wanted to visit... seems like such a fascinating place. |
