When I was but an oldish lad,
Swallowing Goldfish was a cool fad
Pick one out and watch it splash
Tasted funky and got a rash.

My mother took me to the doc,
A wannabe---he was not Spock
Didn't even have an office
No secretary, nor nurse no one to call us.

We sat in the room for many an hour,
And ate some sweet candy that turned out to be sour,
Lunchtime passed and dinner did, too,
While I twist and turned and began to turn blue.

Something moved quickly at the edge of my vision,
At the sight of it I began to feel a sudden tension,
I couldn't move and couldn't speak
My scream was but a stifled squeek.

I quickly stepped back a few steps.
