Are you the type of person that believes in karma and what goes around comes around or are you the type of person who believes in getting even?

I don't ever usualy get even.... I can't say that thoughts of vengence have never come through my head, though I can't remember any very specific ones at the moment.

As for karma, to some extent I believe we create our own karma. Maybe if we don't believe we deserve something, we wont get it. Or if we believe we have done wrong and wrong should be done to us, it will. But then... what of those who do not think what they did was wrong? So... I have no idea really!

I tend to just try to forgive people mainly, whenever possible.

I would like to think I am more of a "karma" person, I'm always telling my children "the what goes around comes around" saying when they are angry with someone and saying "I wish I could......" I just tell them watch and wait and sooner or later (sometimes much later!) things happen without you doing a thing, but will give you what you may have been looking for and a feeling of satisfaction, much healthier than trying to get even!

Maybe its because.... eventually.... bad things will happen to everyone. And good things will happen to everyone.... I dunno....

For me, the law of Karma is as real as the law of gravity.

I've seen it over ad over and there are times when Karma will come around and I won't see it.
I don't have to witness I believe it will take place at the best moment for the offender.

For the Bible readers here somewhere in there we are told by God that He is our avenger. It's the same way I felt with my children. I did not want them to get their hands dirty wreaking vengeance on someone. Plus I did not want them to become the type of people who want to go around getting even with people.

A clean conscience is a gift we give to ourself.

Am I vindictive? Am I ruthless is a better question?

In business I do what needs to be done, I am sure there have been some that say I am a barracuda. I use what ever tactic is necessary to keep my head above water. At times I have not cared. I can lower the boom without a second thought, and sleep very well in doing it. What ever my company needs to survive I will do.

On a personal level I am a much different person then, my business persona. I am pretty much doing consulting work now. I have sold off all my business holdings it was the right thing to do in this rotten economy. At the moment I am buying houses to flip, it is very lucrative, and I really don’t have to be in a lot of people’s faces.

I am taking time to cultivate relationships, something I let go for the sake of the almighty dollar. I am enjoying a semi retired life style at the present, who knows someday the Barracuda may raise his head once again, when I get board and want to set at the helm of some company venture I may start. Or perhaps I will just take care of what I have….and who knows…I know that being ruthless, has made me Ill at times..

[/font:20bfc63e49] I am a firm believer in Karma...I sometimes however, am a bit confused by the delay of time that Karma seeks its payback. I am a spiritual person and believe in treating those how I wish to be treated...(Sometimes that doesn't always work), but I feel good and have a clean, clear conscious. Living right brings positive and negative brings negative. Just a note something that works for me..I am a very sensitive person and I am a receiver (if you understand) I most times when in an awkward or uncomfortable situation. I always find something to complement the person that is sending out the negative, nasty vibes. It does relieve the air. Try it...Smile

Like April Flowers, I have seen Karma happen many, many times, including hitting me a few times. In my time, I've done some mean, rotten, and nasty things and seen it come back to me. On the other side of the coin, there is also good karma for good deeds.

I'm a firm believer in karma. You expend too much negative energy when you extract vengence. The good and/or bad you do in this world will eventually come around to visit you again.::[/font:696e3b4020] Goodbad

I very much believe in Karma. I'm not a vendictive person, but there was a time when I judged people harshly. Eventually I walked in the shoes of those I judged. I no longer consciously judge people, and when I feel myself start to think in a judgemental way, I stop myself, imagine walking in their shoes, and choose to have compassion for their struggles instead.

I believe in fate, I believe that for me to be vindictive in action would come back to haunt me . I too believe in what goes around comes around. If I have been wronged by someone I will face them with it but I will not try to get even, their turn will come sooner or later. I have to admit thought that I hope I am around when they get what is coming to them.

Karma, all the way.

It seems to have worked so far, so I just keep doing it.

I do think "What comes around goes around", however, does it not changwith what we are dealingwith at that time. For example, any one wants to harm my kids or my grandchildren had better get prepared to get past me. I would stand to the end to protect them. Now if you are talking about possessions they can take the lot, I really don't care. Just don't touch my family, then I would be vengeful, vindictive, anything you could think of to protect my family
Guess I come out of this looking like a real B---- but really I'm not I will just always do whatever is necesary to protect my family
Thank you for reading
Kay

i leave it all to fate, or whatever... as i see it, being protective does not mean one has to be vindictive, or seek revenge... doing so most often only prolongs the wrong-doing and accomplishes no good whatsoever... or, as i put it in my collection of 'profundities':

To defeat evil, we need only not DO any. maļa

That some do evil gives none the right to do evil in return. maļa

and, as some others have said:

You must be the change you wish to see in the world. Gandhi

Overcome the angry by love,
and the evil by good.
Overcome the greedy by generosity,
and liars by the truth. Buddha

[to which i added]
Overcome others’ fears with your courage,
and their needs with your total trust.
Overcome others’ doubts with your faith,
and their contention with your calm. maļa
