Baby’s First Christmas
Baby’s first Christmas is an exciting time for all parents. As grandparents my husband and I are so super-excited to celebrate Sweet Pea’s first Christmas! We also know several moms celebrating their child’s first Christmas as well. Recently we all had a discussion on what you put in a baby’s stocking, as let’s face it filling a stocking for a baby can be tricky.
Some of my friend’s suggestions of course included board books, headbands for girls, socks, bath and teething toys.
I have come up with a few baby stocking ideas of my own that are perfect for the littlest member of your family.
How about a classic, wooden bear shaped rattle from HeidiKids? Constructed from eco-friendly, nontoxic materials and featuring plenty of colors and textures, Mr. Bear is a sensory-stimulating piece designed to develop fine motor skills and curious minds.
All paints are water-based and 100% non-toxic and saliva-resistant. All other materials used such as strings, elastics and glues are also non-toxic and child-safe.
Constructed from eco-friendly, nontoxic materials and featuring plenty of colors and textures, the rainbow rattle is a sensory-stimulating piece designed to develop fine motor skills and curious minds.
Though my granddaughter is 9 1/2 and moved on to other toys she still enjoys playing with both of these rattles. The nice thing about the rattles is that they are wooden. There are a great many benefits that come with wooden baby toys that may not be obvious at first glance. Wooden toys last longer than plastic toys and are friendlier to the environment. Plus wooden toys last longer, so they can be passed down for the next generation of kids to enjoy.
HeidiKids is a family owned company based in Vancouver. They provide wooden quality toys for small children that are manufactured in Germany. They have several toys that would be perfect for a baby’s stocking.
HeidiKids toys are available through the heidikids.com online store heidikids.com.
Other suggestions include:
Treats: All kids like to get food treats in their Christmas stockings and babies are no different. Though babies aren’t yet old enough for candy, Baby Mum-Mum rice biscuits are a good option.
Music CD- Even the smallest babies like to hear music. Many manufacturers make music CDs especially for babies. JustMe!Music however works with the most popular children’s brands, including Disney Princess, Elmo, Disney Mickey and Minnie Mouse, VeggieTales, and The Wiggles, to create personalized CDs which incorporate your baby’s name throughout each song and literary adventure. What a perfect stocking stuffer!
