Go Cruelty-Free with Lily Cole and The Body Shop
Fall is right around the corner. Gals have you prepared your back-to-school makeup necessities?
The Body Shop has introduce a new, limited edition make-up line, just in time for back to school. This new line of makeup in collaboration with The Body Shop new Global Brand Advocate, model, actor and activist, Lily Cole consists of a primer, a range of lip glosses, pearl powder “shimmer cubes”, and eye and cheek domes. All of the products in the limited edition collection are vegetarian and 100% cruelty-free.
SHIMMER CUBES: Shimmer cubes comes with four square cubes of eye-color individually packaged. The colour has a slight metallic finish. Shimmer Cubes come in a range of iridescent pinks and lilacs: Think pink, Live Lilac, Go Violet and tint it pink. My daughter has color “Think Pink” on the outside of her eyes and “Go Violet” as the base coat. My daughter has hazel eyes and the colors and the colors really complimented her eyes. The shadows are appropriate to be used wet, so use a damp brush for more vibrant colors.
MINI HI-SHINE: Available in Go pink, Go Wild, Go play and Go Naked, the super shiny gloss can be applied straight to your lips for hi-gloss lips. Model: 25 year old Amanda: Amanda said that it felt a little sticky at the start, but once it dried it was perfect. Amanda doesn’t like dark colored lip-gloss/lipstick, so the wet look lip gloss was just right for her lips.
LIP & CHEEK DOME: Model: 36 year old Aaron: Lily Cole Lip & Cheek dome is a creamy gel that comes in an easy-to-use, dome format, which can be applied directly onto cheeks or onto lips. They are not very pigmented, which is good. Lily Cole Lip & Cheek dome come in two shades: Sheer Pink (Pinch Me Pink) and Sheer Peach (Crazy for Coral). The colour is great for those who don’t like to wear a lot of makeup or have fair skin like my friend Aaron. When applying it, the product does feel a little greasy, but blends beautifully.
PUFF ON RADIANCE: Puff On Radiance leaves a pink toned, luminescent finish and is perfect for face, cheeks and décolletage. The powder gave my skin a healthy glow, though a little too sparkly for me. It comes with a cute soft puff made from manmade fibres.
LIQUID EYELINER: Ink Up Violet liquid liner is a true violet liner with just a touch of shimmer. The applicator itself is a dip felt-tip nib, so it goes on rather easy.
