October 19th, 2012Sears Canada Baby’s Room October Sale

I have many very happy memories of shopping with my father at Sears Canada when I was a little girl. As I entered adulthood and begun my own family I carried on that tradition of shopping at Sears, with my mother. It seemed Sears had everything I needed from maternity clothes, to baby clothes and then children clothes to see my children through those growing spurts.
Now the circle of life repeats itself and I am shopping at Sears with my daughter. As one of 22 Sears Canada The Baby’s Room Ambassadors I will be sharing with you my in-store shopping experience as I shop for items for my granddaughter. I will also be telling you about exciting Sears news and promotions happening at Sears The Baby’s Room over the next 6 months. You may even get a chance to partake in a giveaway or two, so please stay tune.

First things first: Did you know that the Sears Baby’s Room has been revamped to make shopping more enjoyable? They now
offer a better assortment of products and Sears family-focused pricing and values.
The “Everything Baby” sales event, which runs from now to October 25th capture the budget of new parents like my daughter while delivering quality products that baby will need.
Yesterday, we received our “behind the scenes” guided tour and got the inside scoop on products Sears carries from my local Sears manager Tracey. Together, we browsed around all of Sears – The Baby’s Room categories.
Tracey was more than eager to answer questions and give recommendations on products based on her own personal experience as a mother or prior costumers shopping experience. Tracey even introduced us to new products and answered information on the benefits of those items.
My daughter and I were able to check out the completely set up nurseries, so we could see how baby’s room could easily come together if we were to choose any of the nursery assembles. My daughter put a number of items on her baby registry and I will share a little more about that further down in this post.

From baby basic essentials to strollers, and car seats, Sears really does have almost everything baby needs. Right now both car seats and strollers are on sale for 15 % of at Sears Baby Room. The car seats are also laid out by stages. This was very helpful to my daughter as she was a little overwhelmed as to which car seat she needs. Other significant changes I noticed was the stroller section. Sears offers 4 different type of strollers: Travel systems, convenient strollers, double strollers and 3 wheel strollers. The aisles are wide enough that you can take any of the strollers for a test drive.

While it is true that women tend to do most of the shopping don’t think for a moment that Dad won’t enjoy shopping in the Sears
Baby’s Room. My husband was most impressed with the different video monitors available at Sears. When searching for a high-quality video baby monitor a new parent or even a grandparent might feel overwhelmed by all the choices. Thankfully Tracey was there to answer all our questions.
Many doctors recommend humidifiers for the cold, dry months and Sears carries two brands of humidifiers. Tracy was able to answer my questions regarding the difference between KidZone and Crane. I loved how the display was set up of each humidifier they carried allowing you to see what they looked like outside of the box.

wonderful experience for me as well. The new and revamped area is well organized, very spacious, and filled with brands that I never knew existed. Check out the Baby Breeza temp control water kettle just in at Sears.. This unique water kettle speedily heatswater up to 98 degrees, then holds it there all day long – so the water for baby’s bottle is always ready, all the time.
With our check list in hand we took advantage of the “Everything Baby” sales event, and did some shopping for baby. One of the products I wanted wasn’t stocked, but Tracey told me that she’d be happy to order it in for me.

We decided to buy an item from the baby essential checklist, which we printed out from Sears prior to leaving home. We also bough a couple of outfits,
a pair of baby shoes and the mute button pacifier that my husband just had to have.

The Safety 1st Complete Healthcare Kit combines all of the essentials home infant health care items neatly in a zippered travel case. My daughter chose a cute outfit from the mix and match rack where you can match any top with bottom for just $13.97. From the clearance rack she chose a cute spring dress that will be perfect for Easter photos. Can you believe that we bought all this for $50?

Are you expecting? While at Sears why not use the baby gift registry kiosk located in most Sears retail stores. Once you’re
registered, your list is available online and on all of our in-store kiosks nationwide. Nothing could be easier for those who want to purchase you a gift for an upcoming shower or new arrival gift. Tracey was very helpful in getting us all set up at the kiosk and my daughter even received a bag of goodies for registering. To add items in the store, we printed out the registry with bar code at the kiosk and Tracey brought us a scanner. Then my daughter simply scanned the items she would like for baby.
When friends and family are ready to purchase a baby gift, they go to Sears print a copy of the registry from the kiosk and find the item that they want to purchase. When they purchase the item, the cashier scans the registry paper and the item is removed from the registry. Friends and family can also shop online using the registry.

As a first time mom, all the things baby needs can be overwhelming, but thankfully, Sears is there to make those decisions much easier with The Baby’s Room. Overall, both my daughter and I had a fun afternoon together shopping and touring Sears. We were both truly impressed with the changes made in the baby section at Sears. I invite you to visit The Baby’s Room at a Sears store near you or visit online sears.ca/thebabysroom and find out what is new. Also, don’t forget about the “Everything Baby” sales event, which runs from now to October 25th.

I will need to stop by to look at The Baby’s Room next time I’m in Sears. Two things you mention stand out for me: aisles wide enough to test the strollers and completely set up nurseries to see how everything looks when put together.

I was sooo overwhelmed when I had my first child! I also never went with a baby registry . My reasoning at the time was that I felt like it was presumptuous of me to tell people what I wanted. However, I have changed my mind. A few years ago I went to a baby shower for a friend who had a baby registry and it was incredibly easy to go to the registry and find exactly what she wanted. Sears is great for that. I would definitely register with them.

Rose, this is a great review. I can’t get over how nice baby things are now compared to when I had my kids. We never had a baby registry back then but I sure will have fun buying for my grandchildren. I love all the wonderful products they have out there now. I wish your daughter well with her baby to be and hope things are okay. Thanks for the review.

One of my favourite things about sears is the completely set up nurseries, and that you can test drive the strollers.

after reading this post, I stopped in to the Sears new baby room as I am attending two showers in the next month, what a change! The staff were very pleasant and helpful! What i really appreciate is the wide variety of products and the very cute clothing, loved the monkey and halloween sleeper costumes. (and there were some great clearance deals as well) definitely my first stop for baby shower gifts….

Very nice review I am like you it’s 3rd generation for Sears and the great thing about them is they stand behind what you purchase for kids, do they still have where they guarantee the clothes outlast the kids? Sears is amazing at standing behind all their products, I am a Aunty once again so the review is perfect timing

Set a time well in advance and let everyone know the date, time, and where, so that all members of the family can be present for the picture.
