A romantic getaway is the perfect gift for mom
The Victoria Rose Inn, an 1872 landmark was the elaborate summer home of
the first mayor of Gananoque, William Byers who commissioned architect, Robert Gage, to build the summer home for Byers’ young wife.
The summer residence was named Glenwood and was a single family home until about 1941 when it was renovated into 11 apartments. In the 1980s it became a Bed and Breakfast. In 2006 the mansion was restored to its original state by the Richter family and now provides the conveniences of a modern day Inn.
Today, as an Inn, it features 12 exquisitely appointed rooms, all with private baths and unique décor – many offer working fireplaces, whirlpool tubs and stunning view of the grounds. Owners, Susanne and Bernie have done an amazing job of making the Inn a unique guest experience.
The Victoria Rose Inn is in a wonderful location within walking distance of fine dining, boat tours, theatre, and other island attractions. Read more…
