March 25th, 2011Tim Hortons new Real Fruit Smoothies
I have always loved my Tim Hortons Double-Double coffee, but now I have a knew Tim Hortons addiction.
Have you tried the new Tim Hortons Real Fruit Smoothies yet? I had a chance to give them a taste test, and let me tell you they are delicious.

However, the smoothie also taste sweet. Not surprisingly, the drinks are made with juice and a small contains 30 g of sugar.
On the bright side, a small 10 oz serving only has 130 calories. A small smoothie with yogurt only has 150 calories.
Smoothies are available in two flavors. Try the delicious pairing of Strawberry Banana or Tim Hortons Mixed Berry, made with a luscious mix of strawberry, blackberry, blueberry and raspberry.
My favorite is the Strawberry/banana.
Priced at $1.99 for 10 oz, (2.69 if you add vanilla yogurt) Tim Hortons smoothies are an affordable treat.

I also sampled Tim Hortons “New Strawberry Banana Donut.” The delicious banana cake donut has strawberry filling on the inside. The combination of banana, and strawberry is really something special. These cake donuts, are very moist and fresh. It is hard to stop at eating just one.
Disclosure – I received a Tim Hortons gift card to help facilitate my review, however my opinions are my own.

Sounds yummy, but I don’t like strawberries
I wish they’d offer a flavor that didn’t contain them.

I would opt to make your own strawberry smoothies with homegrown strawberries. That way, you get to pick the strawberries at the height of flavor and you know there won’t be any pesticides used to grow them.

I wondered how Tim Horton’s can advertise REAL FRUIT smoothies when they don’t contain any fruit, but juice. The carton the juice comes from looks like a fruitopia type drink with Tim Hortons label. Isn’t is mostly sugar and water with minimal amount of juice concentrate?

Actually Susan, some Tim Hortons do use real fruit. It depends on the location where you purchased your smoothie.
