Weight loss has become a major concern among most ladies. Between taking care of the kids and ensuring effective management of the family, it seems that we are the most over-weight population. Notwithstanding, most of us have also tried several workout programs, from dancing with Richard Simmons on the TV to registering for a workout program in the gym center.

However, going through the hard work involved with these programs for a few days and watching the response of your body system, it is easy to lose enthusiasm and wonder if a miracle will happen.   • Outdoor activity is enjoyable: How many of us ladies will prefer locked up in a gym for 2 hours every day to taking a bike ride for a few hours every morning? While staying in the gym seems and is really all hard work, riding a bike, taking a walk or perhaps hiking the mountains with colleagues is effortless, requires less concentration, with little or no rules and yet, you will be amazed how much calorie you can burn by taking few hours to do this on daily basis.

Bicycling: Riding a bicycle is just as effortless as they look on the TV, on the papers or on the road. While it looks like the rider is just having fun, which is true, it is also a great weight loss outdoor activity. As a general rule, it is easier to start each ride with slow fun pedals; enjoying the sight until the strength builds up in your system, then you can fire it up more. However, you may want to ensure effective breathing when on a ride, when your breathing becomes too labored and uncomfortable, slow down until you have that spike to fire up again.

When to use bicycling: When you want a fun, easy way of burning as much calorie as possible without placing yourself on much pressure or incurring any self pain.

Hiking: Depending on the factors surrounding the individual and how fast she goes, hiking has been proved to burn about 350 to 500 calories an hour. You don’t necessarily need to hike on daily basis and if you feel stressed, which is less likely to be the case, perhaps a 60-minute walk around the neighborhood is enough. However, you may need around 7 hours to lose significant pounds with hiking which you can easily schedule on weekends with some friends or colleagues. Nothing is a more fun way of having a great weekend!

When to hike:  When you want a less regular means of losing weight while combining it with effective diet watch.

Skiing: Skiing works almost miracles for overweight ladies. You can burn around 3000 calories for six hours of skiing. Many people has also lost about 5 pounds in a week, built effective stomach muscles, enhanced their immune system and curbed depression all with effective skiing programs. While skiing is already a fun activity on its own, it is often better to take on un-groomed areas that will make your body work harder and thus use more calories.

When to go for skiing: When you want a more regular means of losing weight that can be done a few hours a day with some other outdoor activities.
