BMXie-RS Balance Bike Review

BMXie-RS Balance Bike If you’re a parent or grandparent to a toddler, you’ve probably wondering what to get your busy toddler for Christmas. By now you’ve most likely have seen or heard about balance bikes. There are many balance bike brands on the market to choose from. The BMXie-RS Balance Bike from Chillafish is a great peddle free learning bike designed for kids ages 2 to 5 years old.

Chillafish BMXie-RS Balance Bike

The BMXie-RS Balance Bike’s plastic frame is approximately 31.5 inches (80 centimetres) long. You can adjust the seat from approximately 12.5 inches (31.75 centimetres) high to approximately 15.5 inches (39 centimetres) high.

Parents can store the foot support underneath the frame when not in use.  The design of the bike itself helps toddlers learn balance and steering skills. The BMXie-RS comes with a real BMX-styled bicycle frame providing the same look and feel as a regular BMX bike. The bike frame is a fiberglass-reinforced material. The wheels on the Chillafish BMXie are airless RubberSkin tires; a new kind of tire that gives your child the best grip possible, and you don’t have to inflate them!

Create and Customize

The BMXie-RS Balance Bike itself is easy for parents to assemble. The only tool you need is an Allen wrench for the screws, which is included in the box with the Chillafish bike. It took my husband about 10 minutes to put this bike together. It’s that simple. And the seat can be adjusted by hand, without any tools! The bike includes a set of decal stickers allowing your child to customize their new bike. Also on the front of the bike is a detachable “number plate” where kids can decorate it with stickers or simply remove the plate altogether.

Easy Transportation

The compact and light weight design of the BMXie-RS Balance Bike makes it easy to transport. And because the bike is much lighter than your average bike, it gives your child even more control over using it. The seat of the BMXie-RS balance bike is a lot closer to the ground than on a regular bike. Therefore, if your little one does fall, they won’t have far to go.

Balance Bikes for Toddlers

BMXie-RS Balance Bike The BMXie-RS Balance Bike is not one size fits all kids. Although the bike is recommended for children aged 2 to 5, the BMXie-RS is really small. My daughter who is almost five is 46 inches tall and was too tall for the bike. In our opinion the ideal age for the BMXie-RS is between 18 months and three. As your child grows the Chillafish BMXie Balance Bike grows with them. Because the BMXie-RS seat raises we feel that the bike provides sufficient room for growth from 18 months to age 4 at he most depending on the height of your child.

Overall, the BMXie-RS Balance Bike is a really cute balance bike. It is sturdy, well made, light weight,  and perfect for toddlers.

The Chillafish BMXie-RS Balance Bikes retails for $89.99 and comes available in a variety of cool colors including red, blue, green, yellow and pink.

BMXie-RS is now available in blue & lime at your local Costco warehouse at a discount of almost 50%. Enter the giveaway to earn a 5-dollar cashback on your BMXie-RS purchase at Costco. 1. The BMXie is a great little bike for kids and parents who want something a bit different. It’s well priced considering the options for colors plus balance bikes, in general, make an awesome learning tool for young kids.

  2. Great post Rose! Thank you – My son loved these when he was smaller and our other kids are just at the right age for them now. It’s something that gets them outside (though I guess they could try inside……well, not in my house! lol) and makes them feel “big”. I just wish they had been around when I was little and afraid of learning to ride a bike then.
