Once the Fathers Day festivities have come to an end, and Dad is home with a coffee in hand- wined down with some IMAX magic. Born to be Wild is a stunning movie that is fun for the entire family and sure to win the hearts of both old and young.

Narrated by Academy Award winner Morgan Freeman, allow you and your family to be whisked away by an inspiration story of love and relationships in an adventurous documentary that plants your home in the delicate rainforests of Boren and the burley terrain of the Kenyan Savannah.

Your children will see two fairy godmothers much greater than the one in Cinderella come to life as two women provide tender love and care in their animal sanctuaries. Born to be Wild follows the world-renowned primatologist Dr. Biruté Mary Galdikas, the Canadian educated naturalist who received her first inspiration at the age of six with the classic tale of Curious George- Dr. Galdikas rescued and raised orangutans of the Indonesian Borneo in their natural habitat. The film provides insight to her organization and educates on the importance of wildlife preservation.

With Born to be Wild we see that “Orangutans have never left the Garden of Eden”, we are reminded of their childlike innocence- a concept that we can all relate to on a very simple level.

The second real life fairy godmother is Dr. Dame Daphne Sheldrick, a woman that rescued, tamed, and rehabilitated the great Elephants of Kenya- leaving behind a lasting legacy. For over twenty-five years Dr. Sheldrick was the tangible Mother Nature. She cared for the ill, abandoned and orphaned animals that wouldn’t have survived without her affection. The film is an inspiration to all, and spirits are raised as you watch animals released back into the wild and see the perfect balance between the natural world and our world- a balance that can be adopted and learn by all.

This Father’s Day bring the wild to your home, and come together with a tale of love and friendship. Born to be Wild is a perfect end to a perfect day.
